Microsoft has officially acknowledged its defeat in the battle for mobile operating systems and recommends that few people still use Windows 10 Mobile to switch to iOS or Android devices.
A document has been published stating that as of December 10, 2019 the operating system will no longer be supported, no more updates and no more security patches.
WIndows 10 Mobile is a successor to Windows Phone, a mobile-oriented operating system developed by Microsoft to compete with Android and IOS. This was announced at Mobile World 2010, which was launched in November of the same year.
Over time, Windows 10 Mobile was installed only on Nokia smartphones, which also disappeared years later, when Microsoft stopped making phones with a new name, Lumia. The latest phone was launched Lumia 650 almost three years ago, 2016.
