We are about to receive the fifth generation of Internet connection or the so-called 5G, and the first devices that will begin to access are the smart phones that have been prepared for these new networks of mobile phone by some of the manufacturers manufactured. But the phones will not be the only, shortly before D-Link launched in this new 5G router router. Why? Because one is that a SIM card is needed to provide communication services, yet there is no commercial offer on the 5G mobile networks.

This device is called D-Link DWR-2010 5G NR which is a 5G router. Where instead of connecting via cable it uses a SIM card and of course needs to be connected to the power grid. From there and using the MMWave and 6GHz frequencies of the 5G generation, it creates a Wi-Fi connection.
At present, there is no commercial offer for 5G services and will not be launched until the second half of 2019. In fact, it is expected that the operators themselves will market these devices later to provide the best Internet service up to a speed of more than 1 Gigabit per second.
The 5G D-Link DWR-2010 5G NR router features the Qualcomm Snapdragon X55 chip inside and not only offers Wi-Fi connectivity to our local network, but also has five Gigabit Ethernet ports.
At the moment, it may sound like a low-end device, but when the fifth-generation communications start, it may be a substitute for optical fiber to use one of these devices on a 5G scale in areas where there is no fixed broadband infrastructure. Or to provide a high-speed Internet connection when we travel.
