Since the emergence of cryptocurrencies, malware has emerged that seeks to take advantage of the processing power of a computer or other device to undermine it. Thus, during the time that it is not attacked, the attacker can earn hundreds or thousands of euros without doing anything while the other pays the electricity bill. The latest attack has affected 415,000 router routers worldwide.

This attack still works mainly affects the router routers of MikroTik. The company has recently been hit by various attacks that have hit at least 200,000 of its routers under code and vulnerability code CVE-2018-14847.
Initially most of the routers were affected in Brazil, but they were spread all over the world. In fact, as we see in the following map, the gap affects the devices found in some Arab countries in Asia; however, this map shows only 500 infected devices.

Users affected by this vulnerability should download the latest version of the router's firmware, available on the company's official website. In addition, it urges operators to launch updates via the OTA to automatically update and protect devices without requiring users to do anything. Many of them do not know how to update the router's firmware, and the latest update can be found on the company's official website from the following link: mikrotik
